We saw a beautiful sight last night with 6 whooper swans passing by. We are the most north-westerly tip of the UK and therefore their first land since leaving Iceland. Just amazing to think they have flown over 650 miles in one go. Sadly i realised my camera was out of battery, but I'll have it ready for next time.
A whole hand-sliced side.
Our attempt at carving a salmon-coloured pumpkin! Perhaps we should stick to carving salmon. The children are getting excited about their dressing up and party in the Uig hall tonight. More photos to follow...

“A more beautiful and untouched place it would be hard to find. The lodge's position overlooking Uig sands is just jaw-dropping. Even if you don't want to fish there is still plenty to do, including stunning walks rounded off by a hearty picnic. And the lodge itself, which is comfortable and homely, is just the place to relax after a windswept day outside.”
