Dickon and Arthur sledging on the golf course, below the lodge. Along with a pretty sunset.
We had the worst storm for at least a decade at the start of 2015, thankfully no one hurt but a fair amount of roof damage, lead blown away, slates off, smashed window..... all part of living on the edge of the Atlantic!
We are looking forward to growing our deli, farm shops and private customers this year. We brought out the new packaging at the end of 2014 and looking forward to introducing new side sleeves this year.
Wishing everyone the best for 2015!!
All the family enjoying a dusting of snow.
We are really excited to be running a photography week this year in the lodge. The week includes all tuition, accommodation, breakfast, packed lunch, afternoon tea and a three course evening meal, all provided by the lodge chef. If you are flying then we can pick you up from Stornoway airport and your travel for the duration of the course on the island is included. Please do get in touch for more info, either call us on 01851 672 250 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We are lucky enough to have a beautiful landscape on our doorstep, with incredible wildlife such as golden and sea eagles, otters, basking sharks and deer to name a few!
The course is suitable for the enthusiastic amateur looking to develop their skills through to the more experienced photographers. There will also be the opportunity to enjoy some fly fishing for trout too and of course some time for yourself, relaxing or exploring.
We are very excited to be welcoming Leszek Szurkowski as our tutor for the week. Please do look at his website for a little more information.

An idea of what the week will include:
1. What is conscious photographing and how to seek for a new point of view. Composition, composition, composition.
2. Nature: wide or narrow, far or close … how to approach landscape photography and a beauty of nature in detail.
3. Light is everything. How to use natural light and what to do when there is not enough light to have a good shot.
4. Challenge architecture. How to choose creative point of view and frame your creativity
5. Analysing the results and basic editing.
“Best week of my life.”
