News in September 2012 from Uig Lodge

Sep 2012

A steady season so far..

We have had a pretty decent season so far.  29 fish were caught in July which was encouraging.  August was more difficult with only 27 being landed, but this was very much down to the dry conditions and fish becoming trapped in the river.  September has finally seen the arrival of rain and wind which is something we are more used to up here! 10 salmon were caught in the last week and this leaves the total catch so far standing at 69 with still over 5 weeks to go.  We will keep you updated as to how the latter part of the season goes.

Best wishes

“A more beautiful and untouched place it would be hard to find. The lodge's position overlooking Uig sands is just jaw-dropping. Even if you don't want to fish there is still plenty to do, including stunning walks rounded off by a hearty picnic. And the lodge itself, which is comfortable and homely, is just the place to relax after a windswept day outside.”
